Local Futures (formerly the International Society for Ecology and Culture) was founded in response to the expansion of unsustainable, non-regenerative development in Ladakh, Northern India. The organisation aims to promote a more holistic understanding of what it takes to heal the damage caused by an extravist, profit- driven economy and to build structures that foster wellbeing. This is primarily done through the provision of educational materials, books, films, conferences, workshops throughout the world.
