Process Ogiek Community

The Ogiek are an Indigenous Nilotic community in Kenya, famed as forest guardians, traditionally living in the Mau and Mt. Elgon forests as hunter-gatherers and skilled beekeepers, deeply connected to the ecosystem for food, medicine, and culture, but facing ongoing threats from government evictions and land grabbing for conservation and carbon projects, despite landmark court rulings recognizing their rights.
